the third dimension
The third dimension has three dimensions: length, height, and width. This is the world we live in. Even though our world may appear flat, our eyes and brain coordinate to interpret shadows, size, and lighting cues as depth, thus making our vision three dimensional. In the book, the three dimensional world is called 'Spaceland'. The occupants of this world are spheres, cubes, and (presumably) other prisms.
